The Scientific Justification for Gender Bias in the Workforce: A Legal Perspective

In recent years, there has been a shift in the conversation surrounding gender bias in the workforce. Historically, women have been the primary focus of efforts to rectify discriminatory practices, with decades of policies and initiatives aimed at increasing their representation in the workplace.

However, a new meta-analysis published in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes challenges many of the prevailing assumptions about gender bias, shedding light on a troubling trend: discrimination against men, particularly in hiring practices, has become a significant issue in today’s workforce. This phenomenon is partially driven by the increasing presence of women in Human Resources (HR) roles, who, according to the data, may unintentionally favor female candidates over equally qualified male counterparts.
